I am soooo glad that Maxwell is back with his good ol' r&b/soul flavour. Today's young generation has been assaulted with way too much auto-tuned and repetitive noise. Maxwell came back just in time to inject some soul and depth into the radio airwaves.
His first single, 'Pretty Wings', is the epitome of r&b/soul at its best. It's sweet, sexy, and heartbreaking all at the same time. There's something about the vibe of this song that is so fresh, and yet so classic. This song is about breaking up with someone you love - something no one wants to go through. And yet, Maxwell turns what should be a sad occasion into a romantic and sexy one. Genius.
