A Random Coincidence

A strange thing happened to me yesterday. Let me lay some background for you. I was doing some research on medieval coat of arms. My students are making shields for an art project and I wanted to find a bunch of examples of heraldry symbols that they could use for their shield. Well, while I was doing this I was listening to Jason Mraz music on my iTunes. So there I was copying and pasting heraldry symbols into a Word document. Cross. Fleur-de-lis. Lion. And then... I find a cute squirrel symbol. As I was copying this squirrel into the word document, an unfamiliar Jason Mraz song was playing. And just as I was typing a little blurb about the squirrel, Jason sings this line: 'A squirrel in the tree, is he watching me? Does he give a damn? Does he care who I am?' Huh. And then... and THEN... I find a dove to copy into my word document and as I start tying about how a dove symbolizes peace Jason sings THIS line from the same song: 'Are you a dove of peace? Black dove undercover with another puzzle piece'.
What is up with that? Crazy strange, huh?
It really gets you thinking when strange coincidences happen like that. I mean, really. What are the chances? The multiple wavelengths that our lives run on every day seem to align just so every now and then to make us stop and think. It's like being on a scavenger hunt and we find a clue that leads us to our next treasure. But we can't get to that treasure until we figure out what the clue means. What does this clue mean?
A squirrel in the tree, is he watching me? Does he give a damn? Does he care who I am?
Are you a dove of peace? Black dove undercover with another puzzle piece.
